Two dengue-infected patients who were admitted to the Nepalgunj-based Bheri Hospital for treatment died on Wednesday.
An 86-year-old man from Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-8, Bardiya, and a 12-year-old girl child from Tikapur Municipality-6, Kailali breathed their last during treatment, informed Chief Medical Superintendent of Bheri Hospital Dr. Badri Chapagain.
According to him, the old man was admitted to the hospital on August 30 while the 12-year-old was taken to the hospital on September 4.
The old man also had asthma and respiratory complications and was being treated in ICU, Dr. Chapagain shared.
The inflow of dengue-infected patients to the hospital has increased lately for treatment, the hospital sources said.
As informed, Nepalgunj sub-metropolis has launched a campaign to search and destroy mosquito larvae.
Health Division Chief of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis, Ram Bahadur Chand said the campaign of public awareness with search and destroy of mosquito larva was underway at the community level with the rise in dengue cases. ---
