The driver of a Scorpio vehicle has died on the spot in an accident at Ghalel in Machhapuchche Gaonpalika-8 of the district today. The deceased has been identified as Bal Bahadur Bhujel, 46, of Astam in the same village.
According to Sundar Tiwari, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Information Officer at the District Police Office, the vehicle (Ga 2 Cha 3931) heading for Mardi Himal Eco Village at Machhapuchche Gaonpalika-9 fell about 200 meters down the road at Tadi Khola on the Ghalel-Kalimati road section.
The driver was rescued by security personnel and locals from the Bhindabari police post immediately after the accident. The vehicle involved in the accident is said to belong to Annapurna Eco Village in Assam. Shiva Prasad Bhandari, managing director of Mardi Himal Eco Village, said that another vehicle was sent to the destination after the vehicle carrying tourists returning from Mardi Himal met with an accident.
