The Election Commission has stated that it will launch a special campaign on voter list compilation from November 28. Continuing the ongoing voter list compilation from all 77 Election Offices, 77 District Administration Offices and 40 Area Administration Offices of different districts, the Commission has stated that voter list compilation will be carried out in 637 local level centers except the local level.
According to the commission, voter list compilation will be conducted for 10 days at local level in Himalayan and hilly districts and for 15 days at local level in Terai, and Kathmandu Valley.
The commission has also stated that the voter list compilation will be conducted in two phases in each district. The commission has also clarified that the details of the voter list of all the citizens who have attained Nepali citizenship by completing 16 years of age will be collected in the voter registration campaign.
The District Election Office, District Administration Office and Area Administration Office, which have their permanent address, have made it possible for people to register for various jobs or studies. The commission has stated that the voter list of the citizens with permanent address will also be compiled.
The commission has stated that the names of the persons who have registered their voter list in the election office of other districts will be sent to the election office of the concerned district so that their permanent address will be included in the voter list.
It is said that around 2,300 employees across the country will be directly involved in the special voter list compilation program. The commission has requested all political parties, governments' at all three levels, mass media and civil society to support the voter registration campaign from their seats.
