The State Election Office, Biratnagar has held discussions with the active political parties in the district to make the local level election fearless, free, transparent and fair.
During the discussion, the party representatives were briefed in detail about the election code of conduct by the office chief Levan Kasyap Adhikari. The Chief Officer urged all to abide by the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission regarding the election as the election code of conduct is applicable to the voters as well.
There are 159 wards in 17 local levels in Morang. There are 715,223 voters in all local bodies. There are 39 non-independent political parties, 300 polling stations and 820 polling stations.
The highest number of voters is 133,142 in Biratnagar Metropolitan City and the lowest is 23,990 in Miklajung Municipality, according to the Election Office.
Chief District Officer Kashiraj Dahal said that the District Administration Office was vigilant to prevent any irregularities in the election and stressed on the need of everyone's cooperation to abide by the election code of conduct.
Representatives of the participating parties said that the Election Commission and the security forces should pay attention to the big parties who are often found disregarding the given code of conducts..
