The District Court, Kathmandu has given permission to the Nepal Police to extend detention of all 14 arrested in connection with a fake Bhutanese refugee scam for three more days.
Superintendent of Police at District Police Range, Sitaram Rijal, informed that the District Attorney Office, Kathmandu completed recording statements of the 13 scammers. The recording of the statement of Ang Tawa Sherpa, who was held late in this connection, is continuous.
Earlier, the recording of statements of former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand and former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi was over one Monday and Tuesday respectively.
The Attorney Office has planned to finalize the investigation report in three days. The investigation has been advanced as organized crime and fraud.
Now, the police have only seven days left to complete the investigation.
