The Finance Ministry has approved a budget of Rs 178.77 million to set up oxygen plants and high dependency units (HDUs) in 13 hospitals across the country.
Of the total budget approved, Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital will receive Rs 20 million whereas Karnali Academy of Health Sciences in Jumla will get Rs 51.27 million. Similarly, Charikot Hospital has been allotted Rs 15.5 million, Jiri Hospital will be given Rs 8 million, Bajura Hospital Rs 7.5 million and Bajhang Hospital will get Rs 15.5 million.
The Finance Ministry will also provide Rs 8 million to Doti Hospital, Rs 7.5 million to Achham Hospital, Rs 7.5 million to Solukhumbu Hospital and Rs 7.5 million to Khotang Hospital. Likewise, the ministry has separated Rs 7.5 million for Taplejung Hospital, Rs 7.5 million for Surya Binayak Hospital and Rs 15.5 million for Madan Bhandari Hospital and Trauma Centre.
Before this, the Finance Ministry had approved a budget of over Rs 2.95 billion to instal ventilators, oxygen plants and oxygen tanks in 26 central and nine provincial hospitals. Similarly, it had approved a budget of more than Rs 1.36 billion to set up HDUs in 25 central and provincial hospitals.
The ministry had also provided over Rs 160 million to set up oxygen pipeline and oxygen plants in 12 hospitals in various districts. Likewise, it had also approved a budget of more than Rs 850 million to build oxygen plants and set up HDUs in various other hospitals.
