Meenakumari Hamal of Baglung Municipality-8, who has been suffering from breast cancer for a long time, has received Rs 500,000
The donation was handed over to Hamal at her home today. The 55-year-old, who is financially weak, had a fundraising campaign after she had problems with treatment due to financial constraints.
The money was collected and sent with the active participation and coordination of Ratan Singh Bhandari, coordinator of the humanitarian department of the Galkot Society Japan, Minraj Khatri Milan, Shyam Sharma, Geeta Subedi and Gagan Singh Khatri, president of the Kharwa society living in Japan. Govinda Prasad Sharma, Sharmila Malla Sharma and Ujeli Khadka Malla actively supported the aid campaign in Nepal. The campaign was coordinated locally by Lalita Thapa and Raj Thapa, members of Galkot Samaj Baglung.
The donation was handed over by Jit Bahadur GC Rajan, Ward Chairman of Baglung Municipality-8 Sigana. Speaking after the handover, Ward Chairman GC expressed confidence that the money collected through the activism of Maiti villagers would go a long way in the treatment of the victims. After receiving financial assistance, Meena Hamal is preparing to go to Bharatpur Cancer Hospital again.
