The local government has been procuring medicines to provide health facilities to its citizens. What would happen if financial irregularities were committed in the medicines purchased to provide health services to the citizens? This has happened in Humla.
Gaj Bahadur Rawat, Ward Chairman of Sarkegad Gaonpalika-3 of Humla has been found to have squandered the remaining amount by purchasing less medicine from the amount received from the village municipality. Based on the case filed in the special court by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority, it has been found that the budget allocated for medicine has been misappropriated.
According to the authorities, Ward Chairman Rawat, Sarkegad Village Health Coordinator Santosh Dhami, Chief Administrative Officer Yagyashwor Pandey, and Accountant Surat Bahadur Reshmi were involved in the incident. Spokesperson Shyam Prasad Bhandari informed that the commission has filed a case in the special court demanding action as per Bigo.
