Police in Sunsari district on Wednesday evening arrested a man in possession of 4gm of heroin from Bhantabari in Koshi Rural Municipality-8.
The arrested has been identified as Sambhu Kavirath, a 40-year-old resident of the same rural municipality in Sunsari district.
Security personnel deployed from the Laukahi-based Area Police Office nabbed him with the substances while he was coming to Nepal from India.
Meanwhile, Kanchapur police on Wednesday evening arrested a man in possession of 1.42gm of heroin from Sundar Tole in Bheemdatt Municipality-4.
The arrested has been identified as Bhuwan Sahu, a resident of the same municipality in Kanchanpur district. He was nabbed from his own hotel. The police also seized Rs 3,655 from his possession.
He was peddling the drugs from his hotel. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from Mahendranagar-based police nabbed him with the substances.
Similarly, police in Kanchanpur district on Wednesday afternoon arrested a youth in possession of 12.20gm of heroin from Ratanpur in Bellauri Municipality-9.
The arrested has been identified as Gopal Thagunna, a 19-year-old resident of the same municipality in Kanchanpur district.
Security personnel deployed from the Mahendranagar-based Federal Police Unit Office Drug Control Cell nabbed him during a routine check.
Meanwhile, police in Bardiya district on Wednesday night arrested two persons in possession of 500 milligrams of heroin from Lalibazar in Madhuwan Municipality-8.
The arrested have been identified as Pappu Ansari (32) and Bikash Chaudhary (23), both residents of the same municipality in Bardiya district. The police also seized Rs 11,200 from them.
Security personnel deployed from the Sanoshree-based Area Police Office nabbed them with the substances during a routine check while they were walking.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, informed the police.
