Four people have been arrested with three rare leopard skins from Barahataal-5, Surkhet Baddichaur.
Among the arrested are Kamal Shahi, 35, of Panchadeval-8, Achham, Chakra Bahadur Shahi, 22, Opera Shah, 21, of Ramaroshan-4, Achham and Bimal Shahi, 35, of Chamundabindra Saini-2, Dailekh. Spokesperson of Karnali State Police Office Surkhet and Superintendent of Police Madhav Prasad Shrestha said that a joint team of District Police Office Surkhet and Karnali State Police Office arrested them.
He said, "On the basis of special information, three were found living in Room No. 3 of Prem Hotel in Baddichaur Bazaar of Surkhet West Panchpuri Municipality. The accused were made public by JIPRA through a press conference on Sunday.
Surkhet Police Chief Superintendent of Police Padam Bahadur Bista said that one lava phone each from Bimal and Kamal Shahi and one realmi phone each from Opendra and Chakra Bahadur Shahi were recovered. Furthermore, a check signed by Chakra Shahi mentioning Rs. 4.5 million in a black bag was also recovered, said Superintendent of Police, Bista.
A total of Rs. 27,000 in cash was also recovered from the same person and the four arrested have been handed over to the Division Forest Office, Birendranagar, Surkhet for investigation and necessary action.
