Four women died when a rivulet swept away a car in Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City-4 of Dang district.
All four persons aboard the car died after a monsoon-fed Sisne rivulet swept away the car (State3-01-24 Cha 4440) en route from Nepalgunj to Ghorahi on Wednesday evening, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mukunda Prasad Rijal, spokesperson of Dang District Police Office (DPO). The flooded rivulet swept away the car while they were returning home from Rupaidiya market, he said
Sushila Shrestha (32) of Ghorahi-13 and Radha Shrestha Kunwar (30) of Ghorahi-14 were found dead on the spot while Ritamaya Pun (40) of Ghorahi-13 and Bimala KC (42) of Ghorahi-14 went missing in the swollen rivulet.
Bodies of those missing were found on the banks of the rivulet at Ghorahi-3, Beluwa at around 3:00 am this morning, informed spokesperson of the District Police Office Rijal.
Car driver Nara Bahadur Pun (40) of Ghorahi-15 who was found injured is receiving treatment at Rapti Academy of Health Sciences, police said.
