On the day of Ashwin Shukla Trayodashi today, it seems that there is a rush to go to the houses of the dignitaries to offer tika and blessings to Navadurga. After worshiping the goddess for nine days, after bathing the goddess on the day of Vijayadashami, the process of offering prasad and taking blessings from the dignitaries continues till the day of Kojagrat Purnima. On the first and second days, those who could not go to their dignitaries due to continuous rain could walk confidently until 1:00 pm on the third day as the sky cleared in the capital. On the third day, on Friday afternoon, the rain started again and affected those who walked to seek blessings.
On the day of Vijayadashami, the rain stopped for a while on Wednesday afternoon, but after the continuous rain since evening, it was a problem to go to distant relatives to take Tika, Jamra, and blessings as offerings of Navadurga. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division said that the rains occurred due to the impact of the low-pressure area formed around the southwest Bay of Bengal and Andhra Pradesh in Nepal. Since Mahanavami, there have been normal to full rains across the country, according to the Division.
In some districts of western Nepal, there is a tradition of offering Durga's prasad and blessings only on the day of Vijayadashami. Prof. Srikrishna Adhikari, Chairman of the Nepal Panchang Adjudicatory Development Committee, says that there is no hindrance in the tradition of offering Prasad of Navadurga until all sacrifices are fulfilled on the day of Kojagrat Purnima. The capital city, which has been quiet for a few days, has seen some activity since this morning.
Although the movement of people has increased, travel has not been made easy due to fewer vehicles. There is more traffic in the market than in the past days.
