Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Prithvi Subba Gurung has lost the vote of confidence at the National Assembly. He was able to receive only 27 votes in his favour today.
Of the 58 members present in the National Assembly, 30 lawmakers voted against the chief ministers. Meanwhile, one lawmaker decided to stay neutral. Since Chief Minister Gurung was not able to garner the required number of votes, speaker of the provincial National Assembly declared that the chief minister had lost the vote of confidence.
After losing the vote of confidence Gurung has automatically lost his position. The government now has become a caretaker one. Now Article 168 of the Constitution of Nepal will be applied to form a new government.
