Minister for Finance Janardhan Sharma has said that the white paper on the previous fiscal year, 2020/21 will be made public soon. "Necessary discussions to this effect are underway," he said.
There is the need of the hour to carry out reforms in the country's economy affected most by COVID-19, he said during talks with the representatives of the Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON) at the Ministry.
Conclusion on how to act on the subject relating to the budget ordinance for the current FY, 2021/22 tabled at the parliament would be reached once the issue is settled, he said in another context.
The government led by CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli had brought the budget for the current FY through an ordinance.
Stating that the main priorities at present are coronavirus vaccines and trade boost, he sought cooperation and help from all sides in this regard.
The minister pledged on behalf of the government to bring a clear action plan to uplift and revive small and big scale businesses and tourism severely marred by the virus. He said that the government would address the aspirations of the people at a maximum level while cutting through challenges on the way.
On the occasion, the delegates including sitting SEJON Chair Bhim Gautam and former chairpersons Gopal Tiwari, Pradip Chapagain and Gokarna Awasthi suggested ways for the improvement of the country's economy.
