The government has decided to provide concession on the electricity tariff for industries that have been producing oxygen. Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali informed that a decision to this effect was taken by the meeting of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) which was held in Singhadurbar today.
The CCMC has also decided to give continuity to the import of liquid oxygen from India. It has also decided to increase the supply of oxygen in the country. The government has already brought 400 cylinders from China and 560 empty cylinders from Oman.
Meanwhile, 18,000 empty cylinders from China have already arrived at the Tatopani border point, hence the country will soon have an adequate supply of oxygen needed for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, said Gyawali.
As people have been suffering due to financial crunch and the lengthy process required for procurement of medicines and medical equipment, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed CCMC to hasten the process immediately.
The prime minister also directed officials of the CCMC to leave no stone unturned to protect the lives of the citizens.
