The members of the House of Representatives (HoR) have drawn the attention of the government to immediately provide the vaccines to people who have been facing various problems owing to the coronavirus pandemic. Stating that vaccination is an important task of the government, the lawmakers requested to move ahead with a clear action plan for that purpose.
In the HoR meeting today, the lawmakers demanded ensuring the vaccination in time and resume the academic examinations.
Speaking in the special hour in today's meeting of the Lower House, the lawmakers demanded the government immediately relocate the families displaced by the floods and landslides to a safe place and to provide them relief items.
MP Shakti Bahadur Basnet demanded that the government make public its clear vision on the response plan in the wake of the third wave of COVID-19.
Lawmaker Binda Pande drew the attention of the government to register the workers and labourers in the informal sector and also make arrangements for Nepalis living abroad to vote from the workplace.
Likewise, Sher Bahadur Tamang demanded the government provide food and shelter to the survivors of the natural disasters in Sindhupalchowk's Melamchi and Helambu areas.
The MPs including Lalkaji Gurung, Lal Prasad Sanwa Limbu, Lal Bahadur Thapa, Bidhya Bhattarai, Binda Pande, Bishnu Sharma, Bodhmaya Kumari Yadav, Shakti Bahadur Basnet, Shashi Shrestha, Shanta Chaudhary, Shantimaya Tamang Pakhrin, Sher Bahadur Tamang, Shyam Shrestha, Satya Pahadi, Samina Hussain, Hari Adhikari, Hit Bahadur Tamang urged the government to step forward to resolve the problems regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, to provide relief to the natural disaster victims and to resolve the border issues with India.
On the occasion, CPN UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli addressed the meeting of the Lower House today.
The meeting further discussed the bills tabled by the National Assembly.
