Lawmakers have drawn the attention of the government to hardship facing people of Tarai-Madhes due to the scorching heat since some days ago. Binita Kathayat drew the attention of the government to address the demand of Nepali people in Portugal to set up a Nepali embassy there.
Meanwhile, excessive heat in Dang district has caused wells drying up, resulting in shortage of drinking water. "Water taps stopped running from the third week of May. Water scarcity is increasing this year. It seems a severe shortage of water is coming," said Madan Gautam of Ghorahi-9. Water scarcity has taken place particularly in the wards 6, 8, 9 and 10 of Ghorahi, said the local people.
