The identity of a dead body found at Hewa Khola in Chainpur Municipality-4 of Sankhuwasabha district has been established.
The dead body of Rajaram Tharu from Bardiya district who was working as a labour in the Super Hewa Hydro Power House was found last Sunday after 29 days of the incident, said DSP Birendra Godar of District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha.
The dead body was found in the tunnel of the Hydropower Project. Postmortem of the dead body was conducted after it was handed over to the relative of the deceased.
A total of 18 people including 17 workers in the Hydro Power had gone missing in the flood of Hewa Khola on June 17. Among them, the dead bodies of three have been retrieved so far.
There is a provision that those missing ones not found within two years are considered dead. In case of death in natural disasters, the government has to make a decision on it.
Similarly, a total of 20 families in various parts of the district are displaced due to monsoon-induced flood and landslide. Twelve of the 20 houses hit by disasters are damaged completely.
