Bhojpur has seen an increase in orange production this year. Orange production has increased by 853 metric tons here. According to Agricultural Knowledge Center Bhojpur, 6,293 metric tons of oranges were produced this year. Last year, 5,440 metric tons of oranges were produced.
Even though oranges are produced in all local levels of the district, especially oranges are produced in Temkemaiyung rural municipality, Bhojpur municipality, Shadanand municipality, Hatuwagadhi rural municipality and Ramprasadarai rural municipality.
Biswas Anggai, information officer of Agricultural Knowledge Center Bhojpur, said that the interest of farmers in this field has increased as compared to other crops, orange farming provides good income and is sold from home. "This year there has been an increase in orange production in Bhojpur", he said. We are also providing technical support to the farmers."
Produced oranges are being sold at Rs 100 to Rs 120 per kg. According to the center, oranges have been cultivated in an area of 920 hectares across the district.
