Increasing interest in Technical Education

Recently, the interest of students in technical education has started to increase. Technical education has become the choice of students as they can easily get jobs and gain useful skills after getting education.

So far, two vocational schools are operating here under the Technical Education and Vocational Training Center. Students come from different parts of the country to get technical education.

Shankardev Koirala, the head of Sumnima Polytechnic School, informed that students from all 77 districts, including Darchula, Achham, Bajura, Siraha, Saptari, Dadeldhura, are coming to study in this school, which was established in the year 2069.

He said, "Students come here from all 77 districts of the country to get education. Due to the high interest of students, we have been selecting students by conducting an entrance exam before admission, we have arranged reservation for six districts, this has also made the students somewhat comfortable.

There are 350 students in Sumnima Polytechnic School, which was established for the first time in the district headquarters. Chief Koirala said that although the number of students taking technical education was low during the establishment period, the number of students here has increased recently. He said, "When this school was established, there was little interest in technical education among the students, but now the interest has increased among the students. We have also emphasized on technology to make the education more quality."

According to Shikshalay, the students of six districts namely Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Khotang, Udaipur, Terhathum can study civil engineering and crop science on the basis of quota.

In addition, with permission from Technical Education and Vocational Training Center, Siddheshwar Secondary School in Bhojpur Municipality-4, Yashodhara High School in Bhojpur Taksar, Panchkanya High School Bhulke, Panyakanya High School Changre, Sharda High School Jhyau Pokhari in Shadanand Municipality, and Kanya High School Bayang in Shikshama Kanya High School are running the course.

Dhurvaraj Regmi, the principal of Yashodhara Mavi, said, "The government has also emphasized technical education, accordingly, crop science is being taught in our school, the students are more interested, many schools in the district are starting technical education."
