The Indigenous Nationalities Commission on Monday presented its annual report before the Chief of Koshi Province, Parshuram Khapung.
Amidst a programme organised at the Office of the Province Chief, Commission Member Sharan Rai handed over the annual report of the fiscal year 2078/79 BS as per the Article 294 (3) of the Constitution of Nepal.
Receiving the annual report, Province Chief Khapung laid emphasis on the need of moving ahead with inclusiveness for country's development and prosperity as per the spirit of the constitution.
Khapung expressed the view that all should carry out activities from their respective places to strengthen country's unity, adding that it is clear from the report that the Commission is focused on empowering this work.
Khapung said, "Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-cultural country. The constitution has stressed on proportional representation and inclusion."
Presenting the report, Commission Member Rai urged the government to ensure policy, programme and budget for the protection of language, cultures and traditions of indigenous nationalities.
