Jaya Prithvi Highway connecting Baitadi and Bajhang, which was blocked due to snowfall, has reopened today after four days. The highway, which has been blocked since Thursday, has been operational since 12 noon today, said Baitadi Police Spokesperson Inspector Darshan Khadka.
The road was closed since Thursday due to heavy snowfall at Khodpe, Dudilakhan, Dholyamod, Sribhavar, and other places on the highway. Khadka said, "The highway has been operated using two excavators. Earlier, it was delayed due to continuous snowfall and freezing of snow on the road."
Passengers and freight vehicles from Kathmandu, Dhangadhi, Mahendranagar, Dadeldhura and other districts including Baitadi and Bajhang have been diverted to their destinations. The Dasharath Chandra Highway and Mahakali Highway, which had been blocked since Thursday, were reopened on Friday afternoon.
