The House of Representatives, Development and Technology Committee said that the Narayangadh-Butwal road construction is disappointing and has instructed the government to investigate it and take necessary action and to complete the work in a quality manner in the stipulated time so that the cost does not increase in the future.
It is mentioned that the meeting drew the attention of the committee that the overall progress of the project, which is being upgraded as the Asian Highway, is 18.44 percent by the time it has to be completed. Last year, on January 28, the committee made an on-site observation and gave necessary instructions.
Ministry Secretary Gopal Prasad Sigdel said that the progress made in three years on Narayangadh-Butwal road is very little. He said that it is not easy to break any contract and go to a new one.
Committee members Kedar Sigdel, Vidya Bhattarai, Kamala Rokka, Ganesh Kumar Pahadi, Indu Sharma, Zip Chhiring Lama, Asha Kumari Vick, Tek Bahadur Basnet, Rajendra Kumar Rai, Shanta Chaudhary and others said that the government should pay attention to speedy work or take action as there is a delay in the construction of various road projects.
