Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Gyanendra Bahadur Karki met with former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and discussed the issues regarding budget and Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
Minister Karki met Oli at the latter's residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur at 7:00 pm on Tuesday on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba's behalf.
Earlier in the afternoon, the Law Minister had met with CPN UML Parliamentary Party leader Subas Chandra Nembang.
The MCC proposal has not been able to move forward in the House of Representatives. Earlier, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota had suggested holding the MCC debate on the basis of national consensus as it had already reached the grassroots level.
Likewise, the budget brought by the Oli-led government through the ordinance will be scrapped if the government does not pass the replacement bill by September 15.
The government is currently preparing a new budget.
