A local road stretching from Bhimad to Jarebar via Simle and Bhagar has resumed after two weeks of obstruction. The landslide that occurred at various places had obstructed the road.
Incessant rainfall for some days caused the landslides- major one at at Kalbhuda Chisapani side of the roadway. The traffic on the road is now opened for one way. Excavator was used to remove the debris, said Chairperson of ward no 8 in Bhimad, Buddhiman Shrestha. Although efforts were continued earlier too, heavy rainfall stalled the initiative, he added, giving reason why the resumption of roadway was delayed.
Even the dozer owner and operator had denied to work due to heavy rainfall, fearing further landslide.
A technical team including Mayor of Bhimad Municipality, Mekh Bahadur Thapa, had inspected the landslide-hit area.
The obstruction of the local road hassled locals including those from Shukla Gandaki Municipality.
