Locals express their gratitude for water supply after ages

Residents of Ichchakamana Gaonpalika-6 Dhangre of Chitwan are happy after the taps reached their homes. Residents of the village, who have to travel hours to fetch drinking water for generations, are happy when taps reach their homes.

Residents of Dhugre village and surrounding villages have been facing drinking water problem for generations. Local Bishwanath Gurung, who is also the headmaster of Shree Madhyamik Vidyalaya Dhungre, thanked the local government for solving the drinking water problem for generations.

  Residents of the area, who have been consuming water from the well for generations, said that they are happy when the local government comes to their homes. According to him, before this, one person of each household had to work all day to fetch water.

 He said, "Obligation to go for hours to fetch a jug of water has been removed. The work of one person is to fetch water from 4 in the morning all day long. He said that they have been taking initiative for years but it was completed as soon as the local government came.

According to the locals, it has become easier to do housework after saving time after the shortage of drinking water in the village. According to Dil Kumar Gurung, chairman of the project consumer committee, there are 80 households under the Dhungre Tuntesh Drinking Water and Sanitation Project. A total of 516 people have benefited from the project.

He said that the project was completed at a cost of Rs. 89.82 million. It has been completed with the labor of 11 lakh 18 thousand 296 from 78 lakh 64 thousand local consumers of the village municipality.

  The project has the technical support of Wintuwater Nepal. Village Municipality Chairperson Geeta Kumari Gurung said that the local government has intensified the one house one stream campaign. According to Chairman Gurung, it has become easy for the locals to cultivate vegetables in the village after the water reached their houses only last year.

 He said that agricultural training as well as grant programs are being conducted to attract the locals towards commercial farming as soon as the water and water supply reach the villages. Ichchakamana, the only village municipality in the district, is considered to be fertile land especially for vegetable and fruit farming.
