The Lumbini provincial government has presented a budget of 42.63 billion for the fiscal year 2022/23.
Minister for Economic Affairs and Cooperatives of Lumbini Province, Krishna Dhoj Khadka, presented the budget at the Lumbini provincial assembly meeting held on Wednesday.
In the budget, Rs 13.32 billion has been allocated for current expenditure and Rs 24.47 billion for capital expenditure.
Minister Khadka said that the budget was prepared to keep agriculture, health, education and physical infrastructure in priority to fulfil the dream of making Lumbini a self-dependent province. A total of Rs 4.83 billion has been allocated for fiscal equalization grant, matching grant, conditional grant and fiscal transfer at local-level through a special grant.
The share of fiscal transfer has been proposed to 11.33 percent of the total budget, added Minister Khadka.
