The Madan Puraskar this year is to be awarded to Bhagiraj Ingnam for his book 'Collection of Historical Documents of Limbuwan'. Today's meeting of the Madan Puraskar Guthi decided on the 2077 Madan Puraskar and the Jagdamba-Shree Award.
Choreographer Bhairav Bahadur Thapa is to be honoured with the Jagdamba-Shree award this year. Out of 222 books received by the Guthi, nine books were shortlisted for the Madan Puraskar 2077.
In his book, Ingnam explores the subject of subhangi practice in the Limbuwan region of eastern Nepal during the Rana, Panchayat, and Shah eras. Similarly, Award recipient Thapa has been involved in the development of this field for a long time through study, research, and experimental knowledge of the dance genre.
The Guthi has been distributing the awards since 2013 BS and is considered one of the most prestigious awards in Nepali art and literature.
