A man has been arrested in Kailali for murdering his daughter after raping her.
DSP Pratik Basnet, Spokesperson of District Police Office, informed that a 51-year-old man had been arrested on charge of raping and killing his 10-year-old daughter from Lamkichuha Municipality-8 in Kailali.
The girl was found hanging in the cowshed on June 10. A police team from the Area Police Office in Lamki took control of the dead body of the minor when the family members were preparing to perform the final rites of the girl.
The police informed that further investigation was carried out after Seti Provincial Hospital confirmed that the minor was first raped and then killed during the postmortem. The police also stated that during their investigation they discovered the father of the minor was involved in the heinous crime.
DSP Bista mentioned that during the investigation they also found that the father had hung the minor’s body in the cowshed to make it look like a suicide. The man has been booked under murder charges and further investigation is being carried out, he said.
