The monitoring committee in the district conducted monitoring of industries in Makwanpur. A bakery factory was sealed for not meeting production standard.
Similarly, three commercial outlets have been fined by the monitoring committee.
The committee led by the Office of Small and Cottage Industry, and having representatives from the District Administration Office sealed Khusbu Bakery located at Bastipur of Hetauda Sub-Metropolis-19. It was found not receiving permission for the use of weighing machines, not labeling products, and failing to maintain hygiene, the monitoring team chief Tika Sharma said, adding that Rs 250,000 thousand was fined to the bakery.
The bakery owner has also been asked to present with necessary documents before the Office of Small and Cottage Industries in the district within three days.
Similarly other outlets as Santosh Grocery, New Parajuli Store, and Sintan Grocery and Meat Shop of Bastipur were fined Rs 10,000 each for failing to maintain quality and hygiene.
Also included in the monitoring team were the representatives from Food Technology and Quality Control Office, Hetauda Sub-Metropolis, and the Consumer Rights Protection Forum.
