Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale has said that passengers will no longer have to cover their noses at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Handing over the certificates to the participants of the two-week international level cleaning training given to 152 private sector sanitation workers and employees working at the Kathmandu Airport, Minister Ale said that foreign tourists would no longer have to cover their noses due to garbage at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

He said, "We have put an end to the situation where tourists have to cover their noses when they come to the airport. The responsibility of cleaning the airport is in the hands of the sanitation workers. Make full use of the sanitation training you have received. Minister Ale urged that the airport should always be kept clean to maintain the country's prestige as the responsibility of keeping the airport clean would always be in the hands of the cleaners as the contractor would be returned every year while tendering for sanitation in the airport.

Minister Ale also directed the chief of the airport to make arrangements to reward the employees working in the field of sanitation in the airport annually. Minister Ale said that not only the workers are guilty in the sanitation work but also the employees and supervisors should look after the quality of work and provide the same service.

Similarly, Minister Ale also claimed that various development works have been carried out at Tribhuvan International Airport as per his instructions and many good works have been done.

In the first phase of the sanitation training, 70 people were given certificates today. The next phase of training of 152 people of this campaign will start from next Thursday. International Sanitation Instructor Khem Sharma is imparting training on sanitation. Five years ago, a sanitation company called Khems Cleaning, led by him, volunteered to clean the airport and present a sample.

General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport, Prem Nath Thakur, informed that the airport would be more clean with this training.
