The government has said 'people's revolution' is the foundation of present system – federal democratic republic. Government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, made it clear during a news conference organized at the ministry on Wednesday.
She urged one and all to not belittle people's revolution, which was waged on people's support.
Spokesperson Sharma informed that government objected to the views major opposition leader and CPN UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli expressed on people's revolution in the parliament meeting on Tuesday.
UML Chairman Oli had criticized government for giving a public holiday on 'people's war' day. The observation of day was in recognition to those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of country, she clarified.
She further urged all to not forget the past. Importantly, the decision to give public holiday on 'people's war' day was taken when UML was in the government. The day is not limited to a party nor to a person.
Minister Sharma informed that government was aware of the problems emerged after the misuse of social networking sites. Process of law making was going on to control misuse of social networking sites, she said, adding that even a directive on it was currently at Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. It would be endorsed by the Cabinet later, according to her.
