Tilottama Municipality of Rupandehi has drawn the attention of Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand regarding the suspicious death of Sita Bhandari and the issues related to the case.
A team led by Mayor Basudev Ghimire met Home Minister Khand on Monday at the Ministry and submitted a memo to draw the Ministers' attention to carry out a credible probe and book the perpetrators by making their status public.
The municipality has argued that its repeated calls for probe into the case were not seriously heard from the district administration office and police administration adding that the victims were further traumatised from such condition.
The municipality has asked the stakeholders to see the case in view of violence against women and social justice and to provide justice to the victims.
After the suspicious death of 27-year-old Sita Bhandari of Manigram in Tilottama-5 on September 5, the area has witnessed demonstrations almost every day.
