Likewise, the MoHP has recorded 19 deaths from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The ministry on May 19 recorded 246 deaths, the highest daily number. As of Saturday, the nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 9,198. Presently, there are 27,716 active cases in Nepal.
Meanwhile, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have recorded 376 cases in the past 24 hours. Kathmandu logged 246 cases, Lalitpur logged 81 cases and Bhaktapur logged 49 cases, as per the data released by the MoHP.
As per the health ministry data, a total of 10,133 tests were done in the past 24 hours. Of them, 5,837 were RT-PCR tests while 4,296 were Antigen tests.
As many as 3,066 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Saturday, a total of 606,666 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed. Presently, the recovery rate stands at 94.3 per cent.
As of Saturday, a total of 3,363,666 persons have undergone the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. Presently, there are 27,716 persons staying in isolation while 295 others have been placed in quarantine in the country.
