Cholera has been found in Changunarayan Municipality Ward No. 4 Duwakot and Hetauda Municipality. According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, the two infected people are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The infected are being treated at Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital, Duwakot and Birendra Sainik Hospital in Hetauda. "So far, 21 people have been confirmed to be infected with cholera," said Dr. Chumman Lal Das said.
On the other hand, the number of people infected with cholera has reached 19 in most of the water sources in Kathmandu
The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that it is very important to take precaution as diseases like diarrhea and cholera will spread with the onset of summer and rainy season. Symptoms of cholera include abdominal pain, vomiting, extreme thirst, and loose stools.
