A motorcyclist has died after being hit by a truck in Ilam today. A motorcyclist was killed when a truck coming from Jhapa to Ilam hit a motorcycle coming from Mykhola to Ilam at Golakharka of Ilam Municipality-9 on the Mechi Highway.
The deceased has been identified as Dhan Bahadur Rai, 35, of Sheng in Ilam Municipality-9. The motorcycle overtook the truck and hit the rear of the truck. According to Ganga Bahadur Thapa, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Ilam, the victim died on the spot.
The truck driver is absconding after the incident. He said that further investigation is underway into the incident.
