Parliamentarians in today's meeting of House of Representatives' Zero Hour, drew the attention of the government to the fact that people's lives were affected in most parts of the country with the onset of monsoon.
Airing her voice, Man Kumari GC demanded serious consideration for disaster risk reduction, reduce and rehabilitation of the victims, stating that monsoon-triggered disasters such as landslide and flood had incurred huge loss of lives across the country.
Similarly, Bhupendra Bahadur Thapa called for rescue and relief package for the disaster victims. He blamed that the government was not paying attention towards early preparedness for monsoon-induced disasters.
Yasoda Gurung shared that traffic movement was shut down along Prithvi Highway due to landslide at Dumping and local and provincial government were coordinating to open the obstructed Highway.
Rajendra Kumar Rai bemoaned, "The farmers are hit hard by fertilizers shortage in the beginning of paddy plantation season." Meena Subba and Bimala BK rued over government's apathy towards farmers facing fertilizers shortage. They demanded that the situation to seek concerned minister every time to get fertilizer should be ended.

Special Hour- Call for thorough probe into Dancharam's death
Lawmaker Giriraj Mani Pokhrel has demanded the government ensure in-death investigation in regard with a case relating to the death of Dancharam Wagle of Sarlahi.
Airing his views during a special hour of the House of Representatives (HoR) session today, he alleged the investigation by the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepali Police into the case was just for formality sake, and drew the government’s attention towards that end.
“The death of Dancharam who was the protestor of the unlawful protest against the unlawful practice of charging high interest rate is still mysterious,” he said.
Similarly, Ghanshyam Khatiwada drew the government’s attention towards an incidence concerning physical assaults on a teacher at Ratnamai municipality-9 in Morang few days back and demanded the government take action against perpetrators and ensure justice to the victim.
Likewise, Prem Prasad Lohani wanted the government to promptly launch rescue and rehabilitation efforts at Tripura Sundari rural municipality in Dhading affected by a significant rainfall.

Meanwhile, Chanda Chaudhary apprised the House that she and her family was subjected to ill treatment by a group of around 100 people during the period of May 13 local level elections. As she said, on May 10, a mass visited her home and verbally abused her mother. According to her, the group articulated “Let’s not leave her daughter, prepare arms.”
Stating that following the maltreatment, she had to seek a help from security force for 40 minutes, the lawmaker drew the government’s attention towards the immediate investigation into the matter and take action against perpetrators.
