National (PABSAN), a non-profit making organization of private schools in the country, has appealed to the government to revoke the decision to give two days of holiday in a week (Saturday and Sunday) in schools.
The incumbent government has decided to provide two days a week holidays with effective from May 15.
N-PABSAN, issuing a press statement here today, requested the government to reconsider the decision, arguing that regular teaching -learning activities were adversely affected for nearly two years due to COVID-19 pandemic.
It is of the view that the provision of two days of holiday in a week would further affect teaching learning activities and urged the government not to take any decisions that would adversely impact education in the long run.
Furthermore, N-PABSAN expressed grievance that the decision was unilaterally taken, claiming that it would make adversely impact annual working days and working hours of schools and such a decision would put undue pressure on parents, teachers and students.
