The meeting of the National Assembly on Wednesday passed the 'Yogamaya Ayurveda University Bill 2078'.
On behalf of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Gyanendra Bahadur Karki had presented a proposal seeking the endorsement of the Yogamaya Ayurveda University Bill 2078. The bill was passed by a majority of the meeting.
Earlier, the bill was discussed in the meeting along with the report of the Legislative Management Committee. Responding to queries from lawmakers during the discussion on the bill, Law Minister Karki expressed his commitment to bring the bill in line with the spirit of federalism and make it systematic in a timely manner.
Stating that alternative medicine has been used in the country since ancient times, Minister Karki stressed on the responsibility of all to use it in a practical way. He informed that health services will be available in this university along with teaching and learning activities, while affiliate campuses will also be run in all the provinces..
The National Assembly will meet again on August 6.
