It is about to bring the large cooperatives that deal in savings and loans under the regulatory jurisdiction of Nepal Rastra Bank. A bill to amend some laws on the prevention of money laundering and promotion of the business environment was registered in the House of Representatives on Friday. 2023 proposed to bring such a provision by amending the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2002. "Nepal Rastra Bank will do the work of regulation, inspection, and supervision by using the powers of the existing law on cooperatives of cooperatives with a share capital of more than 25 million rupees or whose main business is savings and loans of more than 500 million rupees
annually", the bill states.
