Law Day is being observed by organizing various programs today. It is marked in commemoration of the day the pradhan nyayalaya, Supreme Court, was established in Nepal.
With the introduction of the Nepal Supreme Court Act, of 2008, the Supreme Court was set up on Baisakh 26, 2009 BS.
The Supreme Court is observing the Day with special significance every year. The program has Chief Justice as an organizer, the President, Vice President, Speaker, Chairman of the National Assembly, Law Minister, and other high-level government officials the attendance.
The Day is special to foster debate on an independent judiciary, the rule of law, and the establishment of a modern justice system.
The Supreme Court organizes a tea reception and greetings exchange program on this occasion. The program is being held at 2:00 pm today.
