A national workshop of ornithologists and conservation workers has started at Sauraha in Chitwan. The sixth national workshop started from Tuesday in Sauraha to discuss the efforts and future action plans for bird conservation. 60 ornithologists and conservationists from all over the country are participating in the workshop.
The former president of Bird Education Society Chitwan, Basu Bidari, informed that the condition and potential of birds in Nepal will be studied in the three-day workshop. According to him, future plans and action directions will also be decided from the workshop.
Ishana Thapa, chief executive officer of the Bird Conservation Association, informed that one hundred and sixty-six species of birds are in critical condition in Nepal.
