The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is preparing to supply power from the underground transmission line system in the Kathmandu Valley within two months.
The NEA is working to supply power to each household from the underground supply system in Ratnapark, Maharajgunj, and Lazimpat areas from the Maharajgunj and Ratnapark Distribution Centres.
Spokesperson of NEA Suresh Bahadur Bhattarai said that the power supply would be distributed from the underground transmission line in the Kritipur area as well.
Spokesperson Bhattarai, however, said that existing electric poles will not be replaced for some more months despite the power supply being ensured from the underground system to the consumers' households and offices from certain points on the road.
The NEA is preparing to supply power from this system in most of the sites in the upcoming winter season.
