The government and the United Arab Emirates have renewed the bilateral labor agreement.
The third meeting of the joint committee formed as per the bilateral agreement reached on June 14, 2019, has renewed the labor pact.
In the meeting organized by the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, the UAE official Abdulla Alnuimi showed interest to take domestic workers from Nepal.
The Nepal government had proposed a guarantee of minimum salary to Nepali workers in UAE, an easier process to bring back bodies of deceased Nepali workers, and an easier collection of details on Nepali workers who are in jail.
Joint Secretary Rajib Pokharel, who led the Nepali task force in the committee, shared about the recent laws formulated in Nepal relating to labor and foreign employment.
