Noted modern poet of Nepal Bhasa, Purna Baidhya, passed away on Thursday. The octogenarian poet was admitted to the Lalitpur-based Nidan Hospital on August 18 following health complications. He was diagnosed with coronavirus infection.
He was born on the day of Janaipurnima in 1997 BS at Chochhen Tole of Bhaktapur. He was the winner of ‘Shrestha Sirapa’ the first literary award of the Nepal Bhasa. He bagged the award for ‘Sarasu’, an anthology of his literary creations, in 2021 BS.
He was been conferred another literary prize ‘Nhuj Progressive Literary Award’ in 2076 BS. He has many creations in his name and ‘Lah Lah Khah’ has been translated into English as well. His last rites were conducted at the Pashupati Aryaghat today, according to the family source.
