The members of the Nepali community in the Sultanate of Oman celebrated Oman’s 52nd National Day with a walkathon.
The over three-kilometre-long “Walkathon 2022” started at the Nepali Embassy and ended at Qurum Beach. The event was organised by the Embassy of Nepal along with the members of the local Nepali Social Club.
The event was led by Nepal’s Ambassador Dornath Aryal.
The walkathon was a mark of respect and gratitude to the people and the King of Oman and was attended by over 400 Nepali community members in traditional dress playing with the Nepali native bands.
The ‘Panche Baja’, which is a set of five traditional Nepali musical instruments that are played during holy ceremonies, was played and people with different Nepali traditional dresses performed the dances.
