Nepal's Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Tuesday reported 7,587 new cases of coronavirus infection, the highest daily record. With this, the COVID count has reached 351,005. Additionally, 73 persons have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the antigen test.
Likewise, the Health Ministry also recorded 55 deaths from COVID-19, the highest daily record till now.
The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 3,417 with the report of 55 more deaths from the contagion in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 59,798 active cases in Nepal.
The three districts of Kathmandu valley have recorded 3,893 cases — 2,779 in Kathmandu, 601 in Lalitpur and 513 in Bhaktapur in the past 24 hours.
As many as 1,775 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Tuesday, at least 287,790 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed. At present, the recovery rate stands at 82 per cent.
As of Tuesday, a total of 2,537,295 persons have undergone the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. Presently, there are 59.798 persons staying in isolation while 253 others have been placed in quarantine in the country.
