Since electricity is not produced to reach the demand in Nepal in winter, the authority has invited tenders to buy electricity through competition. The Authority, which is currently exporting 364 MW of electricity to India, has tendered to purchase this amount of electricity from December to May.
According to this, it is seen that about 400 megawatts worth of electricity will have to be bought from India for about 6 months.
Last year, the authority had to buy electricity at a high cost when it purchased it from the Indian Energy Exchange market without buying it through competition.
