The government has decided to give Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) to children across the country from April 8 to May 1.
As informed by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Sangita Mishra informed.
This is the first time Nepal launched a free vaccination campaign against typhoid. With the support of the Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance (Gavi), the government is launching a campaign targeting 7.5 million children across the country.
Typhoid is mainly caused by contaminated water. The government has started vaccinating children up to the age of 15 against typhoid. The government aims to vaccinate 95 per cent of children against typhoid this time around.
