The electricity of the Ngadi Hydropower Project will be connected to the national transmission line. Even about two months after the completion of the construction, the 30 MW of electricity generated could not be connected to the national transmission line.
Electricity was generated from Ngadikhola of Marsyangdi village municipality-6 last Pus. The project is being wasted, said Uttam Amatya, chief executive officer of the project company. An agreement has been reached with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to connect the project's electricity to the excavated substation under the 220 KV Marsyangdi Corridor transmission line. The project has not been able to connect to the national transmission line due to the failure to construct the transmission line as per the agreement with NEA.
It is said that the problem arose when the Chinese company SinoHydro of Upper Marsyangdi 'A' did not give its consent after reaching an agreement with the authority. He said that instructions have been given by the concerned ministry and authority to connect to the same line and electricity will be connected to the national transmission line within a few days.
The administrative Officer of the project Basudev Gadtaula said that a 6 km transmission line has been constructed up to the Khudi substation to connect it to the 220 KV transmission line. The project has constructed an additional three kilometers of the transmission line to reach 132 KV of Champata.
The excavated substation of the 220 KV transmission line under construction has so far completed 35 percent of the work. The agreement was to complete the project within three years. The cost of the project, which has been extended time and time again, is more than Rs. Five banks, led by Everest Bank, have invested Rs 4.5 billion in the project. Butwal Power Company has a 25 percent investment.
